CivilTech Expo at Tamkang University

Recognizing that most people in Taiwan have limited understanding of the engineering industry and that there is a shortage of talent in the construction sector, the Department of Civil Engineering at Tamkang University, under the guidance of the New Taipei City Government and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor, and with the support of 1111 Job Bank and Tech Island, will host the CivilTech Expo on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Tamkang University.

The event will invite companies specializing in applied technology for civil engineering to showcase their innovations through interactive demonstrations. This allows non-civil engineering professionals, young students, and people of all ages to gain insight into the cutting-edge technological advancements shaping Taiwan’s civil engineering industry. The goal is to broaden public understanding of the sector and inspire a shift in societal perceptions of civil engineering.

Additionally, the event will feature an online keynote speech by Prof. Roy Maxion, an IEEE Fellow and a distinguished AI expert from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA. Sometime after the online presentation, Prof. Maxion will visit Taiwan to engage in academic and industry exchanges, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration through continued discussions both online and in person.
